2008 Readers’ Choice Christian Music Awards

December 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Close to 6000 people participated in this year’s Christianity Today Readers’ Choice Awards – and Third Coast Artists came out on top!

We have posted the link below for you to check it out, but here are some highlights!

From Christianity Today:

“For Best Male Artist, it’s now been five years straight for Jeremy Camp, who just released Speaking Louder Than Before, his follow up to 2006’s Beyond Measure. Fans made this another landslide victory, awarding Camp twice as many votes as the runner up, tobyMac….

Meanwhile, longtime fourth place winner Natalie Grant finally makes a leap to the top. For years, she’s been the favorite among Dove Award voters – now she’s the favorite among our readers…

…Given their level of promotion and radio popularity, it comes s little surprise that readers went with Tenth Avenue North, easily the most visible of the new artists in 2008. Nevertheless, this was the closest contest in this year’s voting, with Addison Road and Children 18:3 closely following in second and third, respectively. “

Hooray!!

Amazing people I get to work with…

September 18, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So, besides the fact that I make HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS  A YEAR, one of the other benefits of my job is the extremely unique people that I get to work with.  One of them is the David Crowder Band.  Yes they are a great band.  Yes they are nice people. Yes, yes, yes.  BUT, in addition to all of the normal things…they are stupidly talented. They are constantly applying new technology in instrumentation, ie incorporating a guitar hero guitar into their set.  BWACK is said to be a “circuit bender.”  Whatever that is…but the result is some amazing things that I would have never thought of.  His creativity is not limited to musical instruments though, as evidenced by this super duper video…note the cleaning of the Dove Award…loved that!

You can watch it HERE.

In addition, Mercy Me has been updating their extremely popular blog relentlessly.  I must say, they are pretty funny, and might just have too much time on their hands.  You can check it out here! Pay particular attention to their  “Cover Tune Grab Bag.”  Did I mention they have too much time on their hands?
